DJ AM has been collecting sneakers for almost 10 years (over 900 pairs) and was respected in the sneaker world for his expertise in the subject matter. The DJ AM Memorial Fund has gotten together with eBay, Deckstar and Undefeated to organize the DJ AM Charity Auction. All proceeds of the sales will go to organizations and projects committed to addressing issues of addiction and recovery.

Nike SB teamed up with HUF to release a capsule collection of goodies ranging from Blazer Mid SB to tees and caps. The model used as a collaborative canvas this time is well, the Blazer Mid SB with a canvas upper. The collaborative kicks are kept clean, simple and classic in colorways of all-black and all-white. The only telltale sign of HUF’s hand in these kicks come in the form of an embroidered logo tag attached to the heel panel of the shoes, quietly flagging the Nike embroidery on the back. Alongside the sneakers, the capsule collection features printed tees, caps and jacket all with both HUF and Nike SB’s stamp. The tees are emblazoned with HUF logo and “HUF CITY DIRTBAG” on the back above the Nike mark, and HUF found a way to discreetly incorporate itself into the Nike SB tag on the bottom of the jacket. Check out the cool and fail-safe collection and mark your calendars for Nov 7 because that’s when all the items will go on sale exclusively at HUF stores.

Sometimes, watches look really interesting. So many of the designs just make you want to grab it then and there. This is a conceptual watch that may give you mixed thoughts. It is a pretty funky looking one and has a measuring-tape look-alike thing as its dial. Termed as the Ora watch, this one tells time on a series of three crisscrossed analog time strips. The top one gives time in minutes, overlapping a smaller band with the hours, and a narrow third belt with the current day of the week. The mechanism seems very complicated and quite mind baffling. It is designed by Alexandros Stasinopoulos.

Nike has released a pack of two different Blazer High’s that are both inspired by Godzilla, both of which are available now at select Nike Sportswear retailers. One of the Blazer’s take’s the Godzilla inspiration to be a bit more literal and uses a Green upper with a screened reptilian print all over it. The other Blazer High uses an all Black upper with a perforated Nike Swoosh and the application of a graphic over it that makes it look like a giant claw just slashed through the shoe. Pada hari jumat yang lalu ( 05/06), sebuah event Drum n Bass mengguncang Jakarta. Crime Scene selaku label yang membuat event tersebut, benar-benar total dalam mempersiapkan event yang sudah jarang terdengar di Jakarta ini.

Crime Scene 1.1 sebagai tema event malam itu, di gelar di Scandal Lounge Plaza Senayan. Dekorasi ruangan dari Scandal Lounge pun dirombak dengan banyaknya atribute “Police Line” yang di pasang memenuhi semua sudut ruangan oleh para anggota Crime Scene, hingga tidak terlihat lagi tanda-tanda dari Scandal Lounge itu sendiri. Para DJ yang mengisi event tersebut pun juga tidak tanggung-tanggung, bisa dibilang semua “pentolan” Drum n Bass hadir di event malam itu. Hal ini memang disebabkan komunitas genre Drum n Bass yang bisa dibilang Solid dan saling support. "Walaupun masing-masing dari kita berasal dari label yang berbeda. Tapi kami semua saling respect satu dengan yang lainnya" tutur DJ L.G.B (Crime Scene). Penuturan tersebut dibuktikan di event ini, tak hanya para crowd-crowd muda drum n bass, banyak juga anak-anak lama pecinta Drum n Bass yang hadir pada malam itu.

Event kali ini dibuka oleh DJ Weza dan DJ Asung. Free! sangat tertarik melihat permainan dari DJ Weza, karena Free! sudah jarang sekali melihat DJ yang satu ini perform sejak tahun 2005. Crowd yang sudah memenuhi dancefloor, tampak tidak sabar untuk berteriak dan berdansa. DJ Xonad (Barbar Rec) dengan beat-beat terror drum n bass-nya berhasil membuat para crowd malam itu mencapai tingkat klimaks yang tinggi. “orgasme” crowd semakin di puaskan dengan permainan DJ Random dari JavaBass. Random memuaskan crowd dengan track-track Dubstep andalannya yang kontan membuat crowd yang ada pada malam itu langsung berteriak dan berlompat-lompat mengikuti irama.

DJ L.G.B (CrimeScene) berhasil menyelesaikan tugasnya dalam menuntaskan crime scene pada malam itu. Dengan flow yang mantap serta pemilihan track-track dari Dubstep up to Drum n Bass, serta diringi scratch-scratch dari DJ Rencong (Angkatan Udara), membuat para DnB lovers enggan untuk meninggalkan area terlarang tersebut.

Waktu sudah menunjukan 4:30 pagi, para pasukan Crime Scene investigator benar-benar menuntaskan kasus 1.1 mereka di bulan Juni ini.
Free! sangat terpuaskan di event Crime Scene ini. Cant wait for next month event hahaha…..

Hello comrades [ especially to those who are staying in South East Asia ]. The fellas who many agree one of the best group in the world is coming down to the EAST.  Streetlife Djs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am sure rumours are spreading like a flu plague before the events company announce their visits. Some naysayers will be even condemning before even giving themselves some of their precious seconds to listen to the Djs mixes. Personally, i would like to thanked Donna Reysta of Blackout Indonesia for promoting them heavily in Indonesia as well as some other countries in the South East Region. If the entertainment industry is like the football world whereby players can be transfer & purchased around, i will pay her a hefty wages to bring her over to MQLA!!!! While walking the Bright tradeshow this weekend we came across a couple of Undefeated Spring 2009 caps. Above you see two subtle snap-back caps, coming in navy and black. The third cap is a New Era collaboration, coming in some nice powerful Spring colors. All three feature the Undefeated strike logo on the back.

Smartbar decided to throw us a curveball early into the year. In a little bit under a week, Caspa will be crossing the Atlantic and showing us what UK dubstep is all about. Along with Rusko, Caspa’s been at the forefront of his scene, genre and label, Dub Police, for a handful of years now, and with successful releases as well as a FabricLive mix it’s safe to say he’ll remain on top for a while to come. I know I have been missing the gadgetz/new tech scene for awhile. I know I haven't posted in quite sometime but with a new year comes new hopes, promises and new inventions. I tend to write about this stuff a lot at my day job so sometimes to write about it for a friends blog isn't that exciting. I however will try and be more committed. If your into to new technology then you most likely know about CES that occurred earlier this month. One of the new creations that surprised me was a Speaker Light Bulb. I really never thought of combining the two and really never thought it to be practical. Well someone is working on it as we speak. Here are the details...


"Thanks to Bluetooth, audio would be transmitted wirelessly from your computer or cellphone to the speaker system contained within each LED bulb. Because LEDs don't produce a lot of heat, I would assume that this idea is actually plausible. The only downside is that the concept, in its current form, calls for a manual volume adjustment by turning the top of the bulb. Obviously, it would be ideal if a network of several of these bulbs could be controlled with a single remote. Otherwise, this is a brilliant idea that I can only hope becomes reality sometime in the near future."
